Default 600/smite bonder 2 man team works where?

I've done more CoF runs than I can count, the normal way of me, the 600 monk with starter armor and a bunch of prots, and my hero loaded up on smite bonds.

I'm wondering, where else in HM does this work, with the same basic setup? It would have to be somewhere where enchant removal isn't a problem, and kd's or ints aren't a very serious problem (fleeting stability and mantra of resolve would counter).

600/smite works in a lot of places. As long as the mobs don't have too much healing capacity that they can overcome the damage from your smiter, you can 600/smite pretty much everything.

Interruption can be countered with that mantra, and KD's with fleeting. A combination of both might become problematic aswel tho.

EDIT: Have you already tried to 600/smite snowmen ? because I think that their spells deal 50 damage, meaning they don't trigger spiritbond. And they can daze you aswel.

I luke to use "I am Unstopable!" to counter kd's becuase if u have spell breaker up in many areas you rnt gonna be able to get interrupted etc so u can just switch between resolve and IATS.

600 + smite works great for HM farming raptor nestlings (and angorodons, raptors, storm riders, and that big t-rex like dino) near Rata Sum. Replace e.g. Essence Bond with Mantra of Resolve and you're good to go.

Unfortunately raptor nestling farming is even more boring than CoF farming, but if you've got a high threshhold for boredom...

ooze pits, another easy dungeon in HM, even easier than CoF since no reversal of dmg to annoy the smiter :-) only thing is u have to go thru an explorale area to get to it, but i did np

I tried that during the easter weekend, but I couldn't find
a) a safe spot for the smiter
b) a way to kill the raptorpat in front of the nest, they always ended my mantra after 5-6 attacks :/
I ended up 55ing the nestlings without the boss, still a nice income, but killing everything in there would have been way better.

thanks for the replies. Snowmen drops suck, so that's no fun. I can do raptors solo with my w/rt.

I'll check out ooze pit.

Vitues: which zones? That's what I'm really trying to get here. Not *IF* it works, but *WHERE* it works. Thanks.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned FoW and UW yet.

u beat me to it I 600/smite UW (HM actually easier...more hits) all the time...my 30-40 min run will clear the chamber (except for terrowebs), the village graspings and coldfires (if I feel daring - but typically just to get to a chest if one's there), all of the random aataxes up the hill from the chamber and over to the behemoths to the left of the chamber (if facing the lost soul)...and all of the ice wastes (unless there is a group of 3 or more coldfires).

In HM, 600/smite can clear the hidden city of ashadim (NF), most of vabbi (keep h/h at zone in to help with leftover priest or hard-to-kill boss, if needed), all of Istan, the vaettirs in eotn (jaga moraine), etc...

Probably a million other places as well, but these are the ones I like to concentrate on..

wow I just vanquished Hidden City on my first try, thanks for the tip gw poster. A few things I noticed about that:

1. There's 1 free slot in the 600's bar, I usually bring mantra of resolve if I'm unfamiliar with the area. It seems there are no interrupts there; what do you recommend in that slot?

2. SB is only necessary vs the stone beetles.

3. All 4 of the bosses are easily farmed (no greens for me my first time through).

4. The mesmers strangely are extremely weak.

5. You really gotta watch the pops, they are in seemingly quiet corridors, the smite bonder can easily get wiped.

6. You really gotta set the smite bonder very far back, towards the back edge of the radar. A few times monsters ran right past me, WELL past me, and to him.

7. The djinss dropped the best loot, but that's based off one run. Wonder what goodies the beetles and hekets drop?

again, thanks for that tip!

Beetles drop geodes..about 1:20 may render a rare stone (diamond/ruby/sapphire) when salvaged. Djinn's drop essences and jeweled weapons, which when salvaged, may turn into whatever rare stone the essence or weapon is named after...I've had good luck with this. Also, did u pick up the treasure chest in the hidden city? It's in the chamber with all of the plant monsters (ibogas, etc.). Djinn's also drop FDS' and scythes, sometimes really good ones. The rest of vabbi is equally as fun. The hekets drop some cool-skin shields (vabbian defenders, etc.) and vabbi is where u can get the best paragon-skin shields imo. Also try Vehjin Mines, lots of black dye has dropped for me there from the mobs of cobalts and behemoths at the beginning and through the cave....have fun and gl... BTW: the mesmers (roaring ether and ether boss) in vabbi are only weak because you used SB against them...otherwise they can sap ur energy very quickly leaving you highly vulnerable to damage...the heket warriors and skree rangers can interrupt a lot, so mantra is recommended...

Hidden City: I might acctualy try this on my Ele as 600HP - I used to farm those Ethers in Mirror of Lyss with perma OF, works lovely.

Vehjin Mines: Are there any interrupts here?

Pain Inverter is brilliant as an additional source of damage to overcome at least some healing faster than usual, since the 600 usually has 1 free skill slot.

did my 2nd vanquish of Hidden City, went much faster. Took Pain Inverter instead of mantra of resolve. That takes the Blue Tongue Hekets (healers) down much faster. One gold, zero greens.

I look forward to trying more of Vabbi here.

deluxe: you CAN NOT farm all over the place with the 600/smite combo, which is the entire purpose of this thread. Again, enchant removes and excessive int/kd, which occurse over MOST of the games, render this combo useless. If you have a specific area(s) you like to farm with this combo, please share the specifics. Otherwise, it's just a +1.

I've vanquished The breach, scoundrel's rise and cursed lands as 600/smite.
I always take a full team with me tho(flagged outside of the screen) in case I can't get a monk down.

in preparation for this weekend, i've been doing runs through Diessa Lowlands to vanquish Flame Temple corridor, then double back and vanquish ascalon foothills. TONS of charr carvings, and some golds, too.

vanquished The Mirror of Lyss. Took Pain Inverter. 1 gold, 1 green (Yammiron's Focus). Silly easy. Nothing was a problem. I believe one or two of the new skins drop in Vabbi, but I hear from chests. My understanding is that the items which can drop from a particular chest are the same items that can be dropped by monsters in the vicinity.

Fuzzy: the official posting for the Gaile event is a bit vague, I'm not sure it's the regular big holiday collectibles that we'll be trading in (I could be wrong). My interpretation is that it will be things dropping only this weekend that can be traded. I suppose we'll see. Your take?
